We pride ourselves on being problem solvers but sorry , we are not in the business of solving problems left behind by contractors who have let you down. We focus on servicing our own customers who have entrusted us with their projects from the get go. When problems arise, as can happen on site, we will do our best to resolve these problems.
Don’t base your purchase decisions on price alone
When budgets are being squeezed and a QS is basing purchase decisions solely on price it can often lead to a race to the bottom. We’re not in that race. There is a reason behind all pricing strategies and making a big ball of money is not usually the one.
What happens when a job goes wrong?
Whilst appointing a contractor to carry out work it is important to ensure you have guarantees and some form of come back if things go wrong. Judging by the amount of stress calls we receive, this is not always the case. In the past we would have done everything to try and resolve problems caused by others, because we’re nice like that. This has probably given PMAC the reputation that we will dig you out of that hole when you need it. In this busy climate we’re afraid this is no longer the case.
Inexperience and incorrect methods can cause serious damage to your building
For example, removing paint from brick or stone, any cleaning contractor can do that – right? Wrong ! Incorrect methods can cause a huge amount of destruction and you could end up paying someone else to finish the job on top of additional costs to repair the damage caused. We’ve seen this over and over again. What seemed like a simple job ended up costing the client over 3 times the original quote we sent.
Damage to Masonry usually involves grinding and re-hoing
Don’t get us started on the number of marble and concrete floors that have been ruined by inexperienced contractors. When damage is done to stone or concrete the only solution normally is to grind down the damage, re-hone and polish. This can end up being a very costly exercise. Inappropriate use of chemicals on masonry can etch and irreparably damage a surface. Power washing or any inappropriate use of force on masonry can leave pit holes which leads to the ingress of water.
Value for money in the long term is crucial in the construction industry
We all want value for money, however, value for money should be based on the long term. Value for money should take into consideration quality, confidence that your project is in the right hands and will be delivered by a knowledgeable and professional team who care about you. We don’t like running into problems on site, no one does, but when we do f… up will do everything in our power to ensure we resolve the issue. We will answer your calls!
Our price is based on project planning, knowledge & experience, safety standards, quality controls and a corporate culture that appreciates every project we work on and values our clients. We don’t shy away from problems, we see the obstacle as the way.
Purchase decisions based on price make no sense
Once you benefit from the satisfaction of a job well done and can confidently hand over your project to your client you will realise the value for money in the long term. Basing purchase decisions on price alone makes a lot less sense.
So we apologize in advance if we cannot help you when you’re in a pickle. We empathize for sure but we’re too busy looking out for our own clients who have put their trust in us.
