Transforming Dublin’s Public Realm

A cleaner, safer, and more attractive environment
For over 25 years, PMAC operatives have been a familiar sight on the streets of Dublin. They work every day to improve cleanliness and enhance the city’s charm. As a trusted partner of Dublin City Council, PMAC plays a vital role in caring for public spaces. Moreover, our work helps protect Dublin’s historic character while improving safety for residents and visitors. As a result, the city remains welcoming, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.

Maintaining the Public Realm in Dublin City Centre
The public realm includes spaces that everyone can access, such as streets, squares, and parks. Dublin City Council has long focused on improving these areas as part of its city strategy. In addition, PMAC proudly supports this vision by providing hands-on care and fast, reliable services.
Our contributions to the public realm include:
- Gum Removal: PMAC teams work through the night to remove gum stains. As a result, streets look cleaner and more inviting.
- Graffiti Removal: Our dedicated unit operates 24/7 and responds quickly to reports. This month alone, teams cleared thousands of square metres of graffiti across Dublin. In addition, we prioritise offensive and harmful content.
- Bridge and Quay Cleaning: We give special care to Dublin’s bridges and quays. These iconic structures remain clean, safe, and visually appealing.
- Heritage Protection: As registered Heritage Contractors, we clean historic facades, paving, and structures with great care. This approach protects delicate materials and preserves Dublin’s history.
- Deep Cleaning: We clean footpaths, bollards, and street signs. Furthermore, our team ensures city streets stay welcoming for residents and businesses.

Going the extra mile.
PMAC’s dedication goes beyond daily cleaning. For example, when the ‘Meeting Place’ bronze statues were vandalised with red spray paint, PMAC responded within hours. Our team removed the paint carefully and protected the artwork. Therefore, the statues were restored quickly without damage. This fast response reflects our strong commitment to Dublin.

Graffiti Removal: A Day in the Life of PMAC’s Public Realm Team
Each day starts early for our public realm team. At 3 a.m., they meet at our Harold’s Cross office to plan their work. Offensive or racist graffiti receives top priority and is addressed within hours. Furthermore, the early start allows the team to reach difficult areas before the city becomes busy. As a result, traffic and pedestrian disruption stays to a minimum.

25 Years of Expertise
PMAC has built its reputation through more than 25 years of hands-on experience. Dublin City Council trusts our team to deliver reliable and professional services. From cleaning the Liffey quay walls to restoring historic bridges, we approach every task with care and precision. In addition, we continually improve our methods to deliver better results.
A Partner in Dublin’s Progress
As Dublin grows and evolves, PMAC remains proud to support the city’s development. We help maintain historic landmarks and keep streets safe and clean. Moreover, our work supports local communities and businesses every day.
PMAC believes a city’s beauty lies in the small details. By removing graffiti, cleaning surfaces, and protecting heritage sites, we help Dublin present its best image — day and night.
